Recipe Request

Does anyone out there have any good bread recipes for a beginner? I tried one recipe out of my usually no-fail Essentials of Baking and it was dense and grainy. I can do quick breads with no problem, but somewhere in the rising and kneading process I get lost. Leave your recipes in the comments or email them to me and I will post them! Thanks!

  1. Have you tried the bread recipes from the KitchenAid Stand Mixer Recipe book? I've success with those. I can post one if you need it.

  2. I am not sure if I still have my recipe book for the mixer. I can look for it and let you know, but my guess is that it was lost in the move.

  3. I just posted the 'artisan bread' recipe on my blog. I'm a bread novice...and it has turned out well every time! It's definitely a type of bread you eat with soup or salad, etc...not for sandwiches. But I've been pleasantly surprised with it so far!
Also - check out artisanbreadinfive.com and thepioneerwoman.com has some awesome looking rolls on her site as well!

  4. I've wanted to try the Artison Bread in Five recipe! I have a great recipe for rolls, but they're the billowy, yeasty type rolls. They're great (and a fabulous base for cinnamon rolls), but not really "bread" for sandwiches or soup. They're more like what you'd expect at Thanksgiving - comfort food.
